Champaign, IL—January 5, 2009—Chapter Communications has announced a new partnership with Theta Phi Alpha, a National Panhellenic Conference women’s fraternity.  Chapter Communications plans to develop a new national website for the organization and a new database for their members.

“We are excited about working with Theta Phi Alpha,” said Josh Terhune, National Program Director for Chapter Communications.  “We understand the importance of a prolific interactive website for an organization.  I am confident we will be able to make Theta Phi Alpha stand out and have a dynamic web presence.”

An important function will be the fraternity’s new member database, which Chapter Communications will create for over 20,000 student and alumnae members.  Theta Phi Alpha currently has 41 active chapters and four colonies.

“It helps to keep track of our membership,” said Laura Foley, National Executive Secretary for Theta Phi Alpha.  “Greek organizations are all about their members.  It’s not about the house, the national office, but all about the members.  The new database will be the fundamental foundation of our organization.”

Theta Phi Alpha members will also have the opportunity to integrate their websites with Facebook.  It allows them to be connected to The Greek Community and Greek Family Tree, which are Facebook applications developed by Chapter Communications with over 500,000 Greek members around the world.

“It’ll be nice to have everything in one place, a single site that will meet all our sisters’ needs,” said Foley.

Champaign, IL—November 16, 2008—The Gamma Zeta chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity at Mississippi State University recently won the “Most Outstanding Collegiate Web Design” award at their national convention.  Their website, www.ztamsu.com, was recognized to have shown excellence in demonstrating exemplary use of technology.

“It made me feel good that the tools we had used were being recognized as being great,” said Liz Heinz, Chapter President.  “Coming back from convention, saying that our chapter’s website was the best out of all the Zeta Tau Alpha chapters in the country was something we could come home and brag about.”

Zeta Tau Alpha members are confident that their website award has helped this year with recruiting.

“The more great things we can talk about with our chapter the better,” said Tiffany Hill, Informal Recruitment Chair.  “Being able to showcase the things we have done as a chapter helps us a lot with recruiting.”

Zeta Tau Alpha, an all-female organization, is known as a fraternity, not as a sorority.  There are seven sororities on campus at Mississippi State University, and they believe that having a dynamic website helps their chapter stand out.

“It’s such a great PR and a recruitment tool,” said Heinz.  “I know all the high school seniors and incoming freshman look at the website before they come in the fall.  All our links are on the Panhellenic Council website and they can get to ours from it.”

The website design was created by Chapter Communications, a web and communications provider that also designed the ZTA websites at James Madison University and the University of North Texas.

“We are excited to hear when our clients win awards for the websites that we helped them create,” said Jeremy Turner, National Marketing Director for Chapter Communications.  “This is just an example of what organizations can do when given the right tools to work with, and we are pleased to be able to provide them with that opportunity.”
